History and Point Calculations

The WA State Interclub race was the brainchild of Clive Choate and this very popular event has been hosted at Doddies’ Beach for almost 30 years.

Have you ever wondered how the points for Interclub are calculated. Well wonder no more.

Points are awarded to finishers on the basis that the first Female and the first Male to finish will be awarded points equal to the highest number to finish in any one gender. The second Male and the second Female to finish will each receive one less point and so on down the list of finishers.
In 2021, the first finishers in each gender were awarded 249 points. Please be aware that only Standard and Premium Triathlon WA members will be eligible for points.

The Rob Pickard Trophy is awarded to the Club with the most accumulated points on the day.

The TWA Presidents Cup is awarded to the Club (with at least 20 finishers) that has the highest average score. This is based on the average of all their competitors. ie If a Club has 26 members finish then their total accumulated score gets divided by 26.
